Ribbon in the Sky

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 25, 2008, 2:59 AM
  • Mood: Sadness
On April 23, the artist of this site Arnaldo “Andy” Robles passed away. We the twins would like to thank all those for the kind words and prayers. It’s really uplifting to see this many people care so much for him. Thank you again. His memorial will be in his home town of Middletown on May the 17.

Many of you didn’t know he was sick because we wanted to keep it private. Only the people closest to him and really knew of his sickness. Even through all the pain he endured he still kept on doing what he knew best, draw. He’d tell you in a minute he wasn’t better than all artists he knew. He just couldn’t do what they did; Computer coloring, posing or comic book paneling nothing. But through everything he still didn’t give up the desire to draw. It’s that desire that pushed my brother and I get his artwork out there to the masses. He never had the great materials others had, he never wasted paper, he never complained about subject matter or anything. He kept anything inside and translated that to great pieces of art. 80% of this gallery is things he knew very little or nothing about. He didn’t care for RPGs and thought KH was too gay but that didn’t stop him from drawing those characters. Why? Because he wanted draw things he never drew before. He wanted to push himself to get better. He rarely turned down art. He was willing to do anything for nothing in return. Even if u paid him he didn’t want the money. He never thought his work was good enough for monetary compensation. Just recently he wanted to get a ZUNE because his iPod broke and they can no longer fix it; we told him why don’t you do commissions. He didn’t want to not because he didn’t have the time or anything. He didn’t want to because he didn’t think his art was worth it.

As for this site my brother and I don’t know what do with it now. We have his last pieces of art namely his entry into the Udon SF tribute book and other works. Most likely we will leave his site dormant after we post the rest of his art which will be on the coming days.

If you want to show your love for him we’ll think some thing for you guys do at a later days but for now just remember him and his artwork.

Thanks and God Bless

-Afro & Sora-

I took one look at his gallery and knew at an instant that he was dedicated to his artwork.
He has made want to improve on my artwork and not stay stuck on one style.
He was an amazing artist and his soul shall live on thru his artwork.
He will be truly missed here on deviantART.

I'm here to pay my respects to this most wonderful of artists. He was such a great artist and his drawings really inspired me to start drawing more. When I saw that he was using markers as his medium of drawing, that inspired me to push myself to use new things in my drawings, such as markers (props to you Andy) and pastels and the like.

This artist will be terribly missed, and I will most definitely continue to look at his work and keep on drawing in memory of him, one of my greatest inspirations on this site!

Rest In Peace and keep on drawing

I know of him only from DeviantArt.

To those who know him and love him, take heart. For though he has passed away, so long as you remember him and tell others of him, he will never be truely gone.

He will live on in your hearts and minds. Dwelling in the past with all the things that you have known, giving you strength and encouragement. But do not dwell there with him; only dead things live in the past. His memory may give you courage and hope and joy and strength, it may be a place of refuge in troubled times, but let it not be a binding chain. Go foreward and remember him, but do not dwell with him in the past.

In the coming days and months and years you will be saddened by his loss; but always look towards the future. When you see him again in the next life, you can tell him with your head held high that you lived a full life, and that knowing him, that by keeping the lessons taught by him to you in your heart, that by keeping his memory burning brightly in your heart but never dwelling upon it, you were a better person.

Our lives are measured by how we touch and affect people. And though he was taken far too young, show him that his life affected yours for the better; show him with your actions. Live life now, here, in the present.

With Deepest Sympathies,
-CaptRory

I found out about this on the stone of adventure and have never seen his work before, but alas I can say after veiwing his gallery I see that this person had a real gift and he was one of those people who didn't squander it he shared it with everyone and i and probably more people are very happy he did so. It is always sad when someone so young and someone with so much talent passes away it is very disheartening.

I found out about this through the stone of adventure, i never heard of the artist or seen his work, but after browsing his gallery and seeing so many pay their respects, i shall also pay mine, sad to see someone so loved and so talented go like this.

I had not even known him but the amount of people here to pay there respects truly moves me, its sad to see someone with so many friends get taken away from them all so soon in his life, I truly wish he had known how loved he was before he was taken from this world.

Wow! I can't believe this. I remember when I first met him @ SJU. He was always working on something new, and he inspired me to push my work to the next level. Even gave me a few pointers. He was a real cool guy. Before he left the school he made me an original prisma color piece of RockmanX and Zero, and gave me a print of Solid Snake that you see here. That was real cool of him and I still have those pieces.
I remember once I saw him working on a large piece. It was a Rockman Dash comic skit of Megaman and Tron hunting for treasure, and one of the servebots activated a reaverbot. It was a funny piece because the servebot was dealing with his angel conscious and devil conscious. And the devil conscious told him to pull the switch while the other told him not to. Of course the servebot listened to his devil conscious, pulled the switch and woke up a reaverbot. Tron started yelling at the servebot while the devil conscious disappeared laughing. It was so funny. I'm surprised Andy never posted it, it would be nice to see.
I'm sad that he is gone, he will be truley missed.
